my first ever mod ... finally ..
I found a summer job and finally raised some money ...
i borrow this pic from someone else, sorry ...
went to the junkyard today looking for misc. stuff ...
I came across this set of rims from a 88 CRX in the corner, I ended up paying 140CAD (roughly 90US) for them ...
they are in ok condition, some scratch and marks, but nothing major.
tomorrow i should able to get some azenis mounted on there...

since i know these are 14x5 rather the recommend 14x5.5 for 195 60 14.
but he said it will fit and told me to look at his prelude (older gen.) for prove, i went outside and look, it fits, that's why i brought it.
i am just wondering if it is safe though ?

it might be able to work but more importantly u'll wanna figure out your overall diameter and see if you can keep it close to stock, unless you don't mind throwing your speedo and odometer off a little.

theres been post about tires almost everyday since ive been a member..next time pay attention..yeah, they ll fit just fine..just expect the speedo to be off a little

i just need someone to tell me 195/60-14 will work on a 14x5 ...
why would 195/55 be a better size .. it will throw off the speedo even more...
195/60 have only 1.1% error ...
I only need someone have experience to tell me it will fit, dont treat me like a newbie ...

Well 195/55 is just alittle shorter than a 195/60/14
I had 195/55 on mine and the speedo was just about exactly right. How did you come up with that 1.1% off on the speedo. Do you know the formula for Tire equations. the numbers stand for approx. 195mm x 60% of the with is the Aspect ratio for the sidewall height x 14in rims.

That is one nice CR-X you have there, they are hard to find in that good of body condition anymore, unless, of course the driver side door is yellow.

i have a 98 civic sedan
it is 185/65-14 ...
for god sake ... stop talking to me like i dont know **** .. it is pissing me off ...
today i went out and buy the tires .. the mounting guy said it is a tight fit and it will be hard, however he did able to mount them on ..

i said i want someone with experience tell me to, being a stiffer sidewall it might not able to get inside the rim, and the sidewall might not track straight due to less support, i want it to be safe.

IT IS my first ever mod, i dont have spare money to throw around so i am extra catious to make sure i dont make a mistake, like buying something that wont work. and knowledge toward cars doesn't not exactly mean how many mod you have done to your own car.
A man can have no knowledge at all and walk into a shop and come out having a very fast car only because he have $$$

how to tires throw your speedo out of wack.
If you get bigger wall tires than the speedo goes a bit off.
But what if you go lower wall on the tires, than what, does the speedo still go off ?
