well... i went to a shop with my friends and of course my R was there too.. and coo things started from this moment, 2 guys came in and buying light ***** for one of the guy's teg, and my friend asked him wat mods he has then he said " Ls Vtec!" , so my friends wondered how fast it is so we asked him " faster than type R?" and he said " i smoke type R all the time!". haha of course i told him my car is out there and ask him to race, and then he started talk things like " my car ran 13.6 with street tires, i dont no why you guys think u R were the only fast ppl bla bla..." somehintg like that, but we didn't race just cuz he said he was in rush. Anyway... those 2 guys sounds just funny for me and all my friends, but i still want to know as much info as i can about Ls +vtec cuz R is my first Honda, so i don't really no anything else except R. So if anyone has/had experiance about that,please give some info. thankx. (when he told me Ls+vtec, i wonder why not go with b20 + vtec?!)

 

i donno if an ls vtec teg's specs depends on what he's got. i'll tell you this tho, i got my *** handed to be on the freeway against a friend of mine's 95 civic coupe with ls vtec. the race was over before it started, i down shifted saw him take off and i just said F CK it.

 

so u are saying it's crazy fast?, i thought it's more like a GSR ?!, cuz samw 1.8 litter with a vtec?!

LS VTEC are crazy fast. But it all depends on how the work was done. If it was done right, it'll have lot's of torque. I have a buddy with one, and his is a torque monster. I've never raced him, but I'm sure he'll beat me. I raced other LS vtec too, on the street, they have the advantage, but on the highway, going high speeds, the ITR will most likely win.

 

thankx for the infos, but i still don't understand, excuse me if i'm dumb like noob. i no that a stock LS has 142 hp/124 and 1/4mile is 15.9, how can it be that fast with just a vtec head?! , eventho, it's same with GSR or ITR still 1.8 litter with vtec, why is it so much faster?!
