Hey everyone,
I recently purchased a stock 96 Integra LS-
I want to do suspension work on it, so I picked up a set of used Koni Yellows- They are fine to use Im sure, but I think I want to have them rebuilt while I am at it.
The car is a daily driver, but I do want to try tracking it a few times
My questions are-
1) Would I benefit from having them revalve them while I am at it?
2) Roughly what do they charge for this service?
3) I know everyone raves about the GC setup, but for a daily driver is it worth it? Should I just go with somethign like a lowering spring?

I want to say rebuilding costs about the same as buying a brand new set of shocks. Don't quote me on that, though. Call up Koni North America and see how much it runs.
I'm also not sure if Koni NA is the only place that can do it, or if there are other places that are like "certified Koni rebuilders" or something like that.

I see- I just bought them for a hundred bucks from a guy who claims they are good- I want to have them rebuilt just as a safety precaution.
I guess I can just throw them on and drive around for a few days to get a feel for their condition, and go from there. Ill be calling around tomorrow too. Thanks Patrick, I feel like I always can count on you for answers lol

I just e-mailed True Choice for a quote on rebuilding. Not sure if I should do mine or not, but they do have 170K miles on them. I'll just see what they say.
Honestly, I would just test them by "hand dyno". You know that they are supposed to make a few hundred pounds at more than a few inches per second, so just put the top hat on and try to pull/extend the shocks as fast as you can. If you can extend them quickly, they are probably worn out. Or have a local shop dyno them.

I called True Choice- 125 for a rebuild plus parts @ roughly 30 in parts.
So I guess for just a rebuild its not worth it at all.
They will revalve them though if you pay for the rebuild, so if your looking to have them revalved it looks good as they are also rebuilt.
I am just going to throw them on with factory springs, drive around for a month and see how they feel, and go from there.
thanks everyone!
