Need Help With Stut Tower Bar Install
I know this is lame but I am having trouble installing my neuspeed strut tower bar on my 2002 honda civic lx sedan. I recently had a lot of work done on my front suspension in a shop, so when i went to take off the 2 outer nuts on the strut mount bolts for the strut tower bar i could not remove them. They are on there ridiculously tight. Im lost oo, because the neuspeed instructions say these bolts should be torqued to 33ft./lbs. What should i do? I prefer to not use a breaker bar if possible, due to the possiblity of stripping the nut. And i aldo dont want to pay a shop for an hours worth of labor just to have them install this. Thank you for any help guys. And please no flaming.
NEW IDEA (2/3): Would a 220 ft./lbs cordless impact wrench/gun get this sucker off with no problem? I was thinking about picking up a harbor freight one, just to have a cheap one around. I dont want to spend the price of a mac, snap, or IR for how rarely i will be using it. Thanks

Get the tightest fitting socket on there and use a breaker bar. If it strips use a nut/bolt extractor. It looks like an inside out drill bit. I usually use a hammer to tap it onto the nut, then put pressure on it and turn, it should dig into the metal and come off. Just buy some new ones at Honda if they dont charge too much or order them. Do your own work from now on
I went out and got a 25" breaker bar (1/2in) and some impact sockets and got it off no problem. That was much cheaper than buying the impact gun. Thanks guys.
