I have a 97 prelude sh. i bought a H22A JDM engine and have swapped the distributor, some sensors, crank shaft gears and i used my H22A4 wiring harness for the new engine. I took off the AttS and the 5spd manual transmission off of the H22A4 and i'm about to swap the oil pan, oil pump housing and oil pressure sensor to the H22A and the tranny will bolt right up perfectly with it. i can't find an intermediate shaft for sell anywhere and i don't know if i will need a new driver side axle or not??? also is there anything else i would need to do to make everything work? i have less than 2 weeks to finish this car so now i'm starting to stress lol.

 

you should be able to order the shaft from hondaautomotiveparts.com. i don't recall about the driver side axle, search around here for the threads on people that have done this swap already, i'm pretty sure there are a couple decent write-ups.

 

checkout preludezone.com they have the information you're looking for. you just need an intermediate shaft if you're going to use the trans out of the SH. you need to make a special mounting bracket to get it to fit. you should be fine with the axles you have. if you can't find a shaft, hit up majestic honda.

 

ok so i bought a new intermediate shaft and bearing from majestic honda. wasn't as much as i thought it was gonna be. why wouldn't the tranny fit??? i swapped the oil pan, baffle and that small bracket from the H22A4 onto the H22A and the tranny lines right up. hmmm maybe that's the bracket ur talking about? i know i have to make a bracket to bolt my intermediate shaft to my block but that's no biggie. my new dilemma is if my engine is going to work lol.

 

ok everyone keeps telling me to read around this site saying that other people have swapped a JDM H22A into a prlude sh??? i only found one guy who swapped it into a 5th gen prelude but i think his was a base cuz it doesnt say anything about sh. anyway thats not so much the issue. i've finished the engine and it's going in tonight....hope it works all good lol.
