I've got an ERL B-series motor in my race car, and a worthless ERL K-series motor, as they built it out of an 08 Accord block, and nothing bolts up to it. I told my ERL dealer that I was going to be sending in a CRV or TSX block, and ERL must have gotten a good deal on these brand new 08 Accord blocks, so they used that instead. The head gasket was the first difference, had to get golden eagle to make us 88mm gaskets out of stock Accord ones. After that, the standard k-series head bolts were over an inch too short. Then, the custom s2000 oil pump kit that they sold me with the motor didnt bolt up. Apparently, they did this to multiple people, and when I called and mentioned that the head bolts didn't fit, they gladly took my order for custom head bolts, without telling me that I was going to run into a lot more problems than the headgasket being different, even though I asked if anything else would be different. My buddy Manny was having the exact same problems, and now neither of us have usable motors. I've been told to send the thing back and they will build me another motor, but I've been so frustrated with it that I just put a plastic engine bag over it and left it in a corner of the shop. I'll be sending it back to ERL shortly, but hopefully it doesnt take as long to get back as it seems to for everyone else that has had to send a motor back to ERL.
Short story is, I'm pissed that they knew about the problem, (I had this worthless block for almost a year, still in the ERL crate) but instead of telling me on my first problem call, they just let me keep going, wasting more time and money.
I hope that I don't have more problems once it goes back to them. This week, I'll be tuning the B-series ERL motor I have, and I'll hope for no problems..

If I only had these two to choose from GE. But consider Benson's hit up Mike Laskey. I have nevr had a problem with my block 100% happy.
I've had my GE block for over 4 years now. on its 3rd build. I blew the **** out of the motor (broke a valve) and destroyed everything. Only thing salvagable was the block n sleeves. bored it and rebuilt it and made over 700whp no problem.
You do realize that GE's HD sleeves are braced, so If you're looking for "extra support" the only choice would be GE, about 2 inch down of braced sleeve FTW.
well my buddy just put in his brand new golden eagle block in his car the other night and first of all the car started mixing coolant, had been idling for only about 15-20 minutes, looked under the oil cap and found milk shake.car also has a coolant leak.to make a long story short, there are micro cracks on the back of the block leaking coolant.took the head off pour water in between the sleeves and it comes back out through the back of the block like sweat coming out of you pours only way to explain it.its obvoius the block was damaged somewhere in the sleeving process.he calls robert at g.e. and roberts tells him that its nothing they could have done wrong b.s.mind this is the second block he has problem with from g.e. sleeves sunk on the 1st one.i personally know peole that run g.e. blocks and have had no problems and i would have used them for my build but now this makes me think twice.i hope they do the right thing and take care of this one because the last one ended up being a paper wieght.

Did you have any problems with the b series ERL block?
Golden Eagle has REALLY stepped up their game the past couple of years! It's been a LONG time since I've heard or read on here about one of their sleeves sinking or failure! GE gets my votes hands down! Wouldn't recommend anyone else!
we have had alot of problems with erl blocks.
sunk sleeves, 8 month turn around time (to get a block w/sunk sleeves fixed), crappy hone, crappy deck, crooked line hone.. etc.

2 seasons on mine and no issues, no headgasket failures.
