Default Crank Seal

Oil is running down into the pink underlined area as marked in the illistration. The valve cover gasket is not the problem. Is it the crank seal that is probably leaking? Or is it called a Cam seal... Dunno..

I searched for a walk-through for both cam seal and crank seal replacements but came up empty.

Thanks again everyone.

Jack

I'd try replacing the CAM seal. If that does not solve your problem then try replacing the crank.

Step 1: Remove timing belt covers.
Step 2: To cover your *** line up timing marks and put crank at TDC.
Step 3: Release timing belt tensioner.
Step 4: Remove Timing Belt off of the cam sprocket/s.
Step 5: Remove cam gear from the camshaft.
Step 6: Remove Valve Cover.
Step 7: (This depends on what you have SOHC or DOHC) but from here on you will need to remove the end cap for the camshaft and slip the seal onto the cam. Then put it all back together.

Sorry I am getting tired of typing already lol…

Don't forget to coat the seal lip with a lil oil or light grease for inital startup up,and uze a "dab" of HondaBond (or permatex ultra gray) at inside corners of valve cover (nearest the cam capz)

The OEM seals will come precoated, so there is no need if it is an OEM seal. Just make sure you take note of how far "in" the old seal is so you know how far "in" to drive the new seal. The crank seal is not your problem if its running down there. It has to be the cam seal if its not the VC because there is nothing else to leak from that spot.

Thank you EVERYONE for your help. "This site and it's members are priceless"

Based on everyones input, this job looks pretty cut and dry.

I will tackle this job later on in the week. Looks like I may have to adjust the valves while I am in there.

Thanks again,

Jack
