Icon2 Ride height for 24.5 slicks

I run K-sport front and rear suspension on my 92 civic hatch....it makes 660whp....i run 24.5 in slicks on 13in rims..this is my first time doing this...now i am trying to get some ideas on what gap in inches from the tire to the fender is safe from braking and for any other reasons....Thank you

Slicks usually grow about an inch upon acceleration and you dont want your fenders to come in contact with your slicks when you let off/brake at the end of the track doing 140mph. 2" is good.

I could be wrong but when I measured my spring hight on the shock it was 3" but like I said I could be wrong. If the weather is good I will try to figure it out. I'm currently on pic 1piece coil system with a beefed up spring weight. Car looked like a donkey

Sorry to thread jack, but I have 24.5x9x13 slicks and i'm afraid that they're too wide and will rub on the inside on my 1995 civic coupe?

Should I be worried? I was thinking of selling them and getting 24.5x8x13.

it depends on what the offset of your rims are.

i run about 1.75" gap in the front, but i am running the skunk2 drag spring combo so its pretty stiff. i think with softer coils up front you'd obviously want a bit more room.

Test fit them and see how much clearance you have. Worst case, you have to get a pair of spacers and MAYBE extended studs.

For the MT 24.5x9x13 I had to get 1/2" spacers with the exospeed wheels to keep them off the upper hub arm thing. I already had ARP extended studs, so I don't know if i would have had to get them or not.

That's the exact same slick/rim combo I have. I was planning on getting extended studs, but I didn't know if I needed to get a spacer or not. What car do you have this setup on?

When your measuring the 2" are you measuring with full air, or at 10psi or w/e you use dragging? (if it matters, not sure it would anyways)

Just curious as I'd like to lower mine to make it look a little better on the street, but don't wanna have to repaint my fenders, haha.

measure with the psi of air that you are going to run at the track

Slicks do not grow striaght up, they get egg shaped at high speed, middle having the biggest circumfrence. You want to go as low as is ssafe, just set it up high and bring it down slowly till you see rubbing. As long as you dont have cut fenders you wont kill a slick with a slight rubbing. Then you can just raise it back a slight bit once you find the right height. Keep in mind if you are ignorant on the brakes it's going to rub unless you have killer springs.

Here are some shots of an MT 24.5 on my EG. It was pretty slammed, the fenders were cut to that crease and then rolled. I always had plenty of room and the front lip would almost hit coming out of the water box

I would highly reccomend having the fenders cut and rolled in any case. Makes thing safer for sure.

My sick body shop did them lol That's why they look the way they do. They did Johns blue EG's as well (203 on here) and he was very happy with them

They will do anyones if people are interested in shipping them over lol But any good shop can replicate it.

IMO, yes. Also from a safety standpoint.

The lower the car, the lower the air resistance and the more settled and neutral the car is the better it will behave.

Plus, it looks sick when the car is dumped lol

i agree about the dumped part, mine sits too high for me. what i'm hoping is that they come out with a 3pc front for the EF hatch's, that way i can run it really low w/o having to chop up my fenders. but if not, this might be worth doing once i start trapping higher.
