Has anyone seen flipped? The two people it features both drive hatches. And it's already hard enough to find one under $7000 in my area and I have a feeling this isnt going to help. Why can't MTV just use a Saturn or a Ford Focus. All I know is that the more coverage the media does on "Street racers" the more damage it does for us enthusiests. I'm sad now.

yeah i saw a commercial for it today. I also saw a commercial for REAL LIFE "im a street racer" wtf is this crap. its prolly some moron with a riced out car thinkin he knows everything about racing and the whole import scene. F&F was a bad enough depiction, but i think this will be worse.

 

Oh yeah by the way its on thursday night at 8 or 9pm central time. figure out what time it comes on by you.

 

i'm actually watching it right now. i think it's a really good segment. i don't think the point of it was to give imports a bad name. street racing

 

Here I will try to make a summary.

It's a guy and a girl and the guy drives a nice white EG and the girl drive a red EG with a touch of rice. They talk about how they are "Street racers" and they take them to a real race track and try to convince them to keep it at the track. Then that night they go out to the "races" and the girl gets taken to jail and her EG gets towed. And the guy and his brother "run" from the police and get in an accident and his brother dies. They make a lot of good points but it was really fake to the point of unless you just watched F and F you would know it wasnt real. The problem is is that they made most import enthusiasts look like dumbass who go out and run from the cops and do stupid ****.

 

whoa calm down i'm not attacking you nor did i just watch f&f. i watched the entire thing and although it was staged, i still think they did a good job showing the downsides to street racing. i didn't feel like they were targeting import enthusiasts specifically. don't take things so personally.

I think that the True Life show on MTV is pretty good. So i would imagine that the Street racing episode wont be bad. i know im gonna be watching it.

 

i must be lame cause i thought they really ran from the cops and they died. i knew something was up after the guy in the ambulance got up. i also noticed while the white civic was spinning out of control, the driver was all calm and just sitting there. the other guy was shitting his paints. i would

I didn't like the show, not for its content but the "flipped" series is just really stupid.

 

Yeah I just watched that Flipped show too. While I knew it was fake from the beginning, I still thought that some points about street racing (and how bad it can be) were expressed well. I'm not against racing on some deserted road, but racing in traffic and racing on city streets =

I think they had a lot of good points but the problem is people who drive imports are automatically now thoughbt of as street racers and I think atleast mtv could have cleared that up a little

 

I understand your point GetawayinMoscow...I mean, V8 guys race just as much but import drivers are more widely known for it because there are more stupid young kids driving Hondas than there are driving Mustangs.

 

My hopes are that this episode will help save at least one life.

the reason for this is that its too slow....j/k... its really because its the ever so popular CIVIC........

i just finished watching it right now... stephan papdakis and lisa kubo was in there... it showed jeremy lafoski's car(sorry for the spelling) and ray lochead's rx7....steph ran a 9.4 against ray at the track... i think it was pretty kool show but kinda corny....i've never been in that situation thats why i say so...others may have a diff point of view...

i can wait until tomorrows "True Life, street racing"

for the record the cars didnt look ricey.....the white EG has a duckbil and the red EG was stock looking with a SOHC motor...... not sure bought the white EG

f MTV ... the import scene has already gotten enough negative exposure from F&F...

The guy strangely enough on this show is a friend of a friend an works at a decent shop that was show in the show o.h.c motoring which is down the street from me.My friends were all goin crazy cause we know this dude.He usualy drives a candy apple wide body del sol,were tryin to figure out whose eg it was.If you notice in the beging they are doin a burn out in jeremy lokofosky(how ever you spell) race car.Hes always down there an o.h.c.

 

i liked the white eg except for the dash

 

hella gay. Ya she really kicks *** with her yellow intake on the ever so powerful SOHC. The other car the white one was ok, he did have a good looking duckbill. but they never showed what was under the hood. MTV is uber gay, kinda of like the peeps the worship Lisa Kubo.
