Icon3 Custom Interior

Alright so I'm thinking that as soon as it gets hot enough outside, I'm going to make myself a sweet custom interior. I just have basic inquiries regarding procedures.

I'm going to take my dash, doors, etc. off, put them in a water/dish soap solution to remove grease. Slightly sand them to make some paint adhere better. Now I'd like to know if any primer should be added to that plastic before I put my color ?

Any suggestions regarding paint ( vinyl paint, rust paint, standard paint, etc. ) ?

Here's my idea, all the fabric in the car's going to be bright red ( carpet, door panels, racing seats ). I'll cover my rear seats with red fabric also ( I'm very meticulous ). Put some red accents to the dash ( cluster, air vents, etc. ). Paint the major plasic parts in white. Put a major coat of clear on all of the painted plastic also. What do you think of that ?

Pictures will come as soon as I start the project. I'm going to get this done in a hard day of work as soon as it's warm outside. I'll do a tutorial with detailed pictures and instructions, individual costs, etc.

IMHO I wouldn't do it. But that's just me.

P.s. look up ricer on google and you'll see why I say that.

It's gonna be rice, but whatever. I'll still give you some helpful info.

Use SEM Plastic & Vinyl Color Coat. It works great... it's flexible, permanent, and fade resistant. It doesn't chip that I know of.

That's what I used to paint my rear interior panels satin black to match the rest of my interior like it is on the 96-97 del Sol. Reason I did it is because I have 96-97 door panels and the rear panels weren't matching because they were 93.

:: Putting on Flame suit::
I would never to this to my car because I like stock interiors, but I would recomend both sanding and priming all plastic piecesthat you want to paint. I have never painted interior pieces before, but other plastics I have painted off of a car usually respond best to both.

Bro' it's an art, it's not like I'm exchanging my political views with you. If you don't like it, well look away when you see one. If that's so sentimental to you, then you should really start doing something with your life. If you say that having a custom interior is so bad, then why did you even bother coming to this thread ? The name says it " CUSTOM INTERIOR ", did you think that I would talk about setting up a supercharger to enhance performance without sacrificing the engine's life as much as a forced air induction system ? Because if so, then you should really start to learn reading.

Thanks for the info regarding the sanding, priming, type of paint, etc.

I wouldn't really call it an art. More of an extension of the person's personality.

When you prefer stock interiors, then a " custom interior " thread shouldn't even give you the idea that it was to YOU that I was asking the opinion. It wasn't written as clear, but I thought that you'd get that by yourself.

I prefer stock interiors but I still tried to help you... maybe I shouldn't have, based on your logic.

I think what you want to say is: If you're not going to help, STFU

I'm talking about anything constructive. I know not everyone likes it, but the useless posts like " rice ... " don't help. I did appreciate your post, I even thanked you at the end of my message.

P.S : You're absolutely right, just in a more clever way. I don't know the administrators here. Not like I really gave a sh** anyways.

Yo I appreciate any help at all. At least if you're going to B.S me give me something in return. That's what makes boards suck.

Ironically, I prefer "stock" exteriors. Spoon spoiler, JDM style front lip. Tinted windows and that's it. It's not like I was driving this : CIVIC

see i tend to think of you as the kitten im gonna try to save you but most likely its not gonna happen.
Save yourself, please.

(...) when you do it lmk i will help you out
Thanks, very appreciated.
