sticky clutch pedal
my clutch pedal sticks a little when leting up on it is that normal or something i should tookin care of i am use to hydro clutches so not shure of any symptoms thanks i did put a new cable in today the one hook on the strut tower cant reach it its a aftermaket one but i cant afford a new oem one right this second so any help would be great thanks
it seems like it wants to return but if barely push it in and let it off it goes fine its a new clutch kit and clutch cable so u think it might be the bearing when i did the cable today when i disconected the cable from the pedal it just sunk to the floor is that norm or should there be a spring or sumthin to hold it up even just a little bit or is that norm with this type of clutch set up i use to hydro so again i hardly know anything about it just the basic stuff
Well I will give you why mine was doing the same thing it was the clutch fork spring. One day driving home from work the clutch pedal fell to the floor and did not come up. So once I pulled the transmission out and did a little trouble shooting come to find out it was the spring one of the ears that hooks into the through out bearing was broke make the bearing pull on one side only. Making it stick and heating up the bearing. I would recommend changing the spring it was one a few dollars at the dealer for me. They do get weak over time.
Well I work on my stuff all the time and my brother owns a shop and I would not go to long. Do you drive in a lot of stop and go traffic? If so keep in mind if it starts to stick more or get stiff then you might want to get ready to break it back down. This is what mine did but I have a ls swap in mine. If you never have change that spring it probally never has been so think of how old the car is and think how many times pedal being pressed and released it gets weak like anything else.
