Default how do i remove the intake mani butterfly on a h22?

i have a chipped p06 ecu and the car runs fine until it gets to about 6500-7000 rpms. after that it feels like its being restricted and i think its because the butterflies in the manifold are not opening.

do i have to take the manifold in order to take them out? if thats not how then do i take them out??

thanks

if they are anything like the gsr manifolds, i would try this first. disconnecting the vacuum source. at "rest" (with no vacuum) the butterflies are OPEN. so you can see if having open (or none all together) is what you are looking for

A stock H22 doesn't make power beyond 7,000 RPM...
The butterflies are electronically controlled..and yes, you have to take the intake off to remove them.

i dont think it should struggle to get to 7500 rpms. i cant even get it to 8000. it should get to 8000 because that is the stock redline of a h22a.

So it's a JDM motor? Redline is around 7600, IIRC. Just because it redlines high, doesn't mean there's power up there. Zip tie the butterflies and see what happens.

Pretty sure they don't redline at 8k. H22's are lower than that.

yeah, h's dont go to 8k....99.9% sure. If you leave the butterfly's open you will loose a little bottom end...may not be noticeable though
