Default heater **** snapped

this morning my i started my car. as usual my heat was on full blast so i was trying to slide the **** to the middle. being so cold it was stuck and i forced it to move but i heard a snap and then no heat. the **** moves freely but my heat doesn't work anymore. this never happened to me before so i don't want to take apart the dash and find that i can't fix it easily. anyone have this happen to them before? how do i fix this?

The arm is plastic, along with everything else on the controls. If you have experience with it try to fix it, otherwise just get a set of new controls, not expensive and it'll save your time and your comfortability. Happened to me, drove in the cold for 5 days, never do it again.
