Default advice on a new project crx

well i have owned a few crx's now and none have them ever got to where i wanted them. so now its about time for another one and i'm trying to figure out a price range. i want a crx w/ a decent body and to just be a nitrous car, looking to hit 12's. what do you think the best and cheapest setup would be and what kind of price range do you think this is gonna run me.

i was planning on going ls/vtec with rods and pistons, b16 tranny, a nice set of axles and tires. and bolt ons and spray

F2D + N2O would probably be the most cost effective.

my buddy ran a 13.5 with a z6 swap and 55 shot. you could easyily get there with ls/vtec but go with b20vtec alot of torquw like allxmotoreg said

lsv/b20v can be built less than you expect. just wait for the right deals to come along.

better yet, whats the price range? there was another user that ask the same question on a different thread here. his budget was 3g and he went with a b20vtec.

:werd:

The bisimoto kit is proven solid. The F22/23 engines are proven solid, have iron cylinders, relatively low compression, and make tons of torque. They should eat up nitrous like stoners eat oreos. I saw these engines running like new at 200k+ miles regularly when I worked at Honda.

The B20vtec, while a somewhat solid combination, has high compression, is a miss-match of totally different engines, and would be stressed more than an f-series.

H22 is okay, but with FRM sleeves there are no mistakes allowed. If you crack a ringland there is no boring the cylinders to drop in fresh pistons.

b20 does sound good and it was a consideration. as for the price range i'm not sure thats what i'm trying to figure out, i was hoping someone on here would have a relatively cheap setup that i could use as something to go off of. and i would be happy w/ some low 13 sec times as well just to let you guys know.

i was also thinking of a single cam vtec setup w/ rods and pistons and spray.

i am def a newb when it comes to this.

and for everyone i was hoping to be around $5k limit here but i was also trying to find out how cheap it can be done or what should be expected

after doing more research on the f series motor all i hear is that they are a pain in the *** to swap in and that they are a hack job. i'd rather stay clear of that

ok to keep this project cost effective and simple i think i have decided on the dohc zc motor because i can use all the stock mounts and ecu and everything, now the question is to try and fab up my own turbo kit, or build for spray. i would rather just have a nitrous car but what do you guys think? and for a nitrous car capable of my goals high 12's/low 13's. what do you think will need to be done to the motor to ensure i can spray enough to get me to my goal.
