Default F23 block guard?

I'm building a couple high-ish compression 11.5:1 87mm F23 block engines. Who makes a block guard or will an H22 fit? Another H-T member said he'll be going with an H22 and modding it a little, but I would rather just buy one. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just my 2 cents but I doubt you even need a blockguard for this build... whay makes you think one would be a good addition?

If you are set on having one, make sure they install it before machining or anything that way any distortion possible when they put it in is accounted for.

You don't need a block guard.

i've read several comments about 87mm overbore on the f23 block maybe being a little thin. coupled with high compression isn't it better safe than sorry?

Depends on who you ask probably going to get all different opinions, but I dont like block guards at all. I am not convinced they help as much as people think but thats my personal opinion. I dont like that they can restrict cooling to the head. Also if not installed correctly and someone presses them in wrong, they can stress/ distort the sleeves.

You are only a 1mm overbore on an n/a build... the sleeves will still be plenty strong enough for 11.5:1 setup imo. As I said though if you going to run one cause it give you piece of mind or whatnot make sure they machine/ check to see that everything is true after installing it.
