Default lets see some b16's with t67's

since my 57 trim took a crap i have to put on my garrett t3/t67 on my fully built b16 and was wondering what others are making on t67 with a b16

i was at 400hp with the 57 trim and now lookin for 500+.

post numbers, dyno charts, etc...

would it really matter?

that turbo's well capable of your goals....probably lag on some set-ups a little but once its spooled your going to pull like a freight train on crack.....

not trying to stir the pot, just figured theres probably alot of threads just like this....these types of threads are becoming quite repetitive'

no pun intended

well my buddys hatch put down 719 wheel with a built stock bore gsr and t4/t67. gets boost pretty late, he also revs that thing to almost 10k. i could only imagine that it would spool even later than a b16 but with a t3 flange you might have a smaller a/r which might help full boost and spool time. but with this turbo and with all turbos...boost levels are crucial when it comes to effiency and power.

thats why im askin about the spool times on the b16 i dont want it to be overkill for the b16 for a street car

if you are worried about spool times, then you are worrying about the wrong thing. my t3t67ho is a little laggy on the b16 but made 540whp with it.

it is fery light switchy. meaning, there is nothing for a long time then it hits. it had great peak power, but no average power. was good enough to go 10.7's. i have the same turbo on my gsr now.

and if it isoverkill for a street car, i think it is. atleast on my car vtec= tire smoke. in any gear.

That powerband would suck on a b16....the only turbo ive liked a lot on a b16 is the Gt30r with .63ar everything else seems so boring cuz after the killer lag followed by tire spin anyways...

I've got a T67 with the T3 flange and the .63 a/r housing on my b16 and I spool it fully by 5100, so it really isn't bad at all for my daily setup
setup is piston/rod bottom end and mild head revving to 9k. The short tranny makes it much more bearable

My b16 ran pretty good with a T3/T67 HO on it. I went 10.9@130 on 20 psi/pump gas and 10.4@142 on 29 psi/C16. For drag racing purposes it will work fine as long as you rev it high enough to not fall out of boost.

i know this is an odd comparision but what is the spool time difference between a t3 t67 and a t4 72mm on a standard gsr build?

well its a bigger flange and a bigger wheel. itll spool later thats for sure. prolly around 500-700 rpm later...depending on dsplacement and c/r.

In other words, it'll reach maximum pressure tomorrow.

If the 72mm is properly paired with a divided manifold and everything else, IMO the spool/full boost should be within 500-1000rpm.

My friend is making about 18lb at 6500rpm with his 42R on a non-divided topmount FR T4 manifold, he use to have a Stg5 Wheel t3/t67 and use to build 21psi by 6500 with a FR ramhorn. His car is a true 2.0L (85x89mm) with a ported head and all the supporting mods so that helps some.

In my stock bore/stroke GSR I can build 25+psi by 6k with a BB 67ho and a ramhorn

i would go with gsr, b16 seems like itll spool to late for a street car imho. unless you have springs and retainers to take it high enough to get some use out of it.

if you get springs and retainers and rev it to like 9.5k you should be fine. kinda shitty for a street car but itll make power.

The T4 will kill it unless you run 10.1 CR. I think anything less and it will take forever to spool. The T3/67 was very laggy but we made it work.

With the T3/67 we had to rev the car to 9600rpm and have a perfect shift or it would fall flat on its face. How ever it did work well on the street because it didnt spin the tires that bad.
