Default In the NW? test drive? please?

i have found myself in a pickle recently. i have a 98 civic with a gsr swap and am thinking about investing some serious cash in a turbo setup. after crunching the numbers im now thinking that a type r would be a better investment. it may cost a little more up front, but in the end i'm going to get more out of it if i sell it if i go the type r route. BUT, i've never been in a type r, so im wondering if anyone in the portland, salem, eugene (oregon) area would be down to let me check out their car? maybe even take me for a spin?
i have vouches here, im a good guy, im not trying to steal your car. i just want to see how well these cars perform before i give up on my 400+ whp build.
i know that they are totally different, but at 25 years old im thinking maybe a turbo civic isn't for me. PM me if you would be down, i'd really be thankful.

is road head included?

see if you can find one at a dealership locally or in the area. if you're serious a road trip to check one out at a dealer would be worth ur while.

This is really the best advice. There are not any for sale in the area you specified however there are more than one a little farther north in the Seattle area.

I have to ask, but do you have a garage or a secure place to park? If you do, cool, if not you may want to reconsider this type of investment in either car until you get one. I'd be willing to help you out but my R is down and out at the moment. Plus being an R owner is sometimes very very stressing. Good luck with your hunt.

X2

Owning a R is stressing-but sure WORTH it. Gsr's etc DOESN'T compare to an R chassis.

btw I have a Japanese R from Oversea's and I think I'd be more stressed out to have a American R!! but thats just me...

GL brah!!!

thanks guys...the R forum sure is more mature than the 92-2000 forum. i was thinking about test driving one....but there are none for sale in my area. and as far as security, i live in a really nice area and always have someone parked behind me at night. i also have a 72 chevy that would see most of the dd duties(i only drive about 10-15 mies a day). i'll keep looking for one for sale, or hit up the autocross ride. hell, even if i can test drive one, i'll still hit up the auto cross ride.

The nice areas in my town are where people go to steal stuff... just my 2 cents.

Ya, leaving an R outside at night would not be a good idea. Hell, mine sits in the garage about 99% of the time and I still stress about it. Even if you have a car sitting behind it they can be "moved" to get to the car.

With that being said, if you are still fairly serious I am in the area and could help you out.

That's just asking for trouble.

No offense, but I'm always on high alert whenever a stranger is in my car.

What happens if the stranger decides to try and rob me?

No offense but you better have a garage for that car, cuz my homeboys gsr just got stolen from one of the friends house recently.... dont leave your car out, if somebody wants your car that bad, believe me they will find a way to get it.. its better to have your car where people cant see it... TAKE EVERY PRECAUTION to protect this car...

R.I.P. to my friends car
