B18 sitting funny in mounts....
Just bought the car recently and this doesn't quite look normal to me:
Driver's side mount:

Passenger side mount:

I thing this is just for D-series motors?

Any ideas? I'll get a pic of the rear mount sometime i guess. Here's a pic that the previous owner took of the whole bay:

Don't worry, the engine bay looks much prettier now, but I still have alot of work to do under that hood. Anyways, any ideas?
Thanks, Dirk

PS mount doesn't look like any EF b series mount I have ever seen. Looks more like a stock mount, but then again, not sure if stock mount would even bolt up. As for the mount at the front crossmember, that is for stock d-series. It needs to be cut off for the B series in the EF so the motor can move.
i'm planning on doing an ls swap in my 91 hatch. will this affect anything else in the vehicle other than the engine appearance? i mean will it put excess stress or pressure on the drive-train at all? any chances of binding in the future? i would like to avoid this if possible.

the motors deff sitting at an angle. not healthy for the axles or any moving parts. Yes the mount bracket on the front crossmember needs to be cut off in order for engine movement, and the driver side mount looks like a 92-95 mount, which needs to be changed. Guy did one hell of a crappy job to get that motor in...

Innovative are not that expensive and great quality.
did you reloacte the rear mount on the crossmember to the other set of holes that is closest to driver's side? - looks to me like you didn't and that is what the problem is
while in the process of putting my LS into my wagovan, i had the same problem.
except mine was sitting way more crooked and the cam gear mount wouldnt even bolt up.
just had my dad chop and change it a little bit and now its fine.
got a pic of it fixed....

if you and luay wanna bring it by the shop we can look at it for ya so we can tell you exactly what the problem is.
is that a mix and match set of mounts? it could be the pic but it seems to be different colours. if so that could be your problem...
of course the car that swap came out of was wrecked so maybe the mount on the trans is some how bent?

oh too bad, i thought you guys were friends, well were in surrey, 86th and scott, epic autosports, the history of that swap was that it was done at racing greed, then the owner smacked it up bad and got written off, then luay bought it from the wreckers and installed it into the car your stuck with. so my guess is either the mount on the trans somehow got bent or its a mix and match set of mounts because it looks like from the pics its different colours. if you want to change mounts theres someone on craigslist thats selling a set of b series mounts cheap. or i can bring in yonaka ones for you. good luck.
haha ok thanks for the offer if I need mounts I'll let you know. The oil pump or something took a dump this afternoon though so I pulled the motor this evening. Check vancouvercivics.
Here's a pic of the rear mount before I pulled the motor and one after:

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but that drivers side mount looks like a stock gen3 integra mount. I honestly would just go with a whole different COMPLETE set of mounts, especially since you got the motor out.
And while your at it, cut the mount bracket off the front crossmember. Should be good to go.

oh wow just read the vcc thread....its too bad man, what are you planning on doing? replacing the motor or just gonna replace the oil pump and fire her back in? basically your gonna have to go to pickapart and grab another harness and do the mpfi conversion, for mounts id suggest new ones...again looks like the rear mount and trans mount is black while the driver mount is silver, so its possible a mix match set of mounts that just werent designed to work together....good luck with your car, sorry to hear abuot the luay reach around....
wow i read the updated thread, well for starters you wont need the da harness, you need the dx harness for your civic, then you use a si or da harness and convert it for mpfi, check the faq on here lots of info on it. that frame rail clearance is scary...are you planning on rewelding it or strength? you should post the pics on here im sure some will get a laugh out of it... also if your looking for another b18, i got one with 160 compression across the board, also cvcdx has a b16, and if your planning on spending 500+ish i can get you one with 4 month warranty...
