Default Side project while i wait for my turbo parts...

while we were waiting for my turbo parts to come in for the crx build, we decided to pick up a civic si for 200.00 and a crx si for 300.00

the civic si was recently stolen, the owner did not have theft coverage. had the the front seats and steering wheel stolen, both locks and ignition damaged, a rod thru the side of the block, one of the wheel locks damaged....we bought it sight unseen off of craigslist and well when we got in in our posession i thought we bit off more then we could chew...

the crx si had a jdm dohc and recently rear ended someone, the owner did not have collision....

the civic when we first got it.

all of that junk was inside the car...

after some cleaning...

i had a set of mint si seats kicking around, so i threw them in here... out with the white face guages and white vents....

the donor car for the drivetrain...or what was left after we were done with it...

the jdm dohc zc

the car pretty much in one piece again and in running condition, my dad liked it so much he actually bought it off of us...

and promptly took it to the body shop for paint....we have decided on ITR championship white...

whatever small amount of rust there was, was cut and new metal welded on, dings and dents now undergoing removal... hope to have it back on monday/tuesday.

a bit of an update, got the bay detailed

day time pics after a wash

and got the side markers installed today...i know it may not be everyones style but i personally think the clear markers match the already clear corner lamps (which i personally am not a fan of may i add but feel that it suits the car). but the good thing is that they are clipped in so i can pop them out later for amber ones if i decide to swap out the corner lamps for amber ones to change the look...

before

paolo at speed craft autoline doing the install...

after, the fog bulbs been replaced now and i have amber bulbs in the corner lamps...

Hella fresh! Thank you for keeping the molding black! Nothing bothers me more than a white EF with white moldings. Makes me think they did a lazy masking job JMHO.

Awesome job saving a doomed car!

Chop the slant off the exhaust so they look a bit more like the stock SI tips. (Just my suggestion)

thanks for the compliments guys.

yeah i hate painted moldings on ef's i always make a point to have them black even if i have to do it myself with bumper trim paint...i wasnt a fan of the tip to start with but it has grown on me and its a bit unique around here so ill stick with it for now, the muffler is some sort of aftermarket muffler so the tip kinda matches the sound, it doesnt have a fart can sound to it at all....the body and paint cost us 1800.00 cdn local pricing, when it comes to paint though you get what you pay for, they actually cut and welded in new material so its not a fiberglass patch job, they also used the new waterborne paint system...

just a comment, you mounted the side markers far too low.
when honda sold the ef9 with sidemarkers they were installed much higher.
and im not sure why you didnt go for the factory origional side markers from stanley as they don't cost much at all.

but if your intention was to install them different from what they are suppost to be, then nevermind.

i left the install location up to the fellow that you see in the pics doing the install. he owns the body shop and does a lot of these. i just figured he would put them in the oem location, but i dont mind them where they are. i preffer the amber markers but i think the clear marker theme flows well, and there only cliped in so i can swap them out to amber if i feel like down the road...

but ill compare them to my rex and ask him why they were installed lower then the oem location....personally i would prefer them in the oem location but nothing i can do now, LOL. its not a jdm car or front end so may as well be different while im at it, lol, main goal was safety anyways for lane changes on the highway etc.
