Default Thrust bearing help

I just had a turbo rebuilt, drove it for one day, and the thrust bearing basically had completely crapped out when i had the shop open it back up.
anyone have any input on this?
the guy had no idea on what could have caused it because it wasnt oil deprivation or anything normal causing it.
could it be something like crankcase pressure or oil pressure doing it? He didnt think those could be the cause either, but I'm not so sure.

I'd send it to another facility to have it cleaned and rebuilt.
