B7XA Transmission
Hello everyone. I am looking for a rebuild manual for the b7xa transmission. Any ideas where i can locate one? I am a 10yr experianced mechanic and have my own garage but never have done one of these trannys. Always have just done a swap. But just want to give it a try myself for once. Thx for the info.
What car is this tranny out of? Your best bet would be to get a Helms manual for the car it came out of. They show indepth how to re-build the tranny as well as the rest of the engine.
Thx for the offer. Im going to get the book and do some research. When im ready I will posting updates and pictures of my adventure. I will be doing this within the next 30 days or so.
I was reading one of your threads and you said you love rebuilding b7xa transmissions.Maybe you can help me,I hope!I bought a 99 Honda Accord 3.0 with a bad b7xa transmission. It was drivable but when you come to a stop it would kick out of gear and rev up just like neutral. The I found out if I shift manually to second gear it would move but there was no 1st gear.I have many years experience as a auto tech but never really messed with transmissions a whole lot but I decided to rebuild it myself.I bought a master rebuild kit, torque converter, filter,in line filter and a trans cooler.I could find a repair manual so I just carefully took everything apart and watched how it went.Cleaned everything good in parts washing solvent.Replaced all seals,o-rings,clutch disk's,fiber & metal.Put it all back together and still no low gear.I tore it back down thinking I made a mistake.Inspected everything, put it back together again, same thing. No low gear! You can drive it if you shift it manually and start out in second.I tore it back down again and is currently laying on my garage floor but I don't know what to do.I don't have any transmission trouble codes.I checked all the solenoids with an ohm meter and checked ok.Please Help!
you need to MAKE SURE that you apply ALL of the latest updates from Honda to that transmission or you could be right back to where you started in very short order. Kennedy transmission kept rebuilding it using after market parts in my 98 accord and the dam thing grenaded no less than 3 times. after the 4th rebuild in 11K miles I sold the car for what I drive now, a 2002 CL type S
