Icon2 concerning F23 hyb. compression

here's the idea: F23A1 block, crank and rods; k20 (RSX type-s) pistons; F22A6 head...

...or this was the idea. i'm looking for higher than stock f23 compression without spending $400 on aftermarket pistons. however those compression calculators estimate this combination would give me something in the area of 12.3:1 comp ratio, but this is going to be a daily driver so that's not really feasible.

question is, how much can be shaved from the head and deck to get higher compression using F23 OE pistons without destroying the motor? also, are there any other options for pistons that'll give me 11:1 or so?

...for anyone looking at this thread wondering the same thing...

looks like the K20A3 (non type-S) pistons will fit the bill perfectly, 11.0:1. A few months and i'll do some sort of build thread showing it all go together.

12.3:1 should still be good on pump gas. I was running my h22 with 12.5:1 pistons, and a decked head on 91 octane last season...
