Default 96 vs 98 spec header

96 = cast iron, 4-2-1 design, 2.5" collector
98 = steel, 4-1 design, 2.5" collector

Am I missing out on any other differences? The main reason I'm asking this is because I can get a 96 spec header for cheap, or is the 98 spec that much better? or am I missing something?

the '96 spec 4-2-1 header is good for low to mid range power, better suited for auto-x.

the '98 spec 4-1 header is great for high end power which is good since the ITR has a high reving vtec.

it's all about what you wanna do with your car to what header you wanna get.

How much power will the 98+ make over the 96 spec? is it enough to justify the cost of a 98 spec? I searched for dynos on this but have never found any.

are you for real... there both stock headers. the gain of the 98 is going to be like maybe 1 to 3 whp if that, if you can get the 98 cheap why not... other wise get a real performance header... hytech, smsp, ect...

thats what i thought...I was just making it a point that the guy probably doesnt need to spend 400 on a header if he can get a 96 spec cheap...not everyone has unlimited bank funds to buy a hytech,smsp.ect...
