Re yr q, the real q is whether a salvage title matters to you. To resolve that, you need to find out -- not just guess -- why the car has a salvage title. Two likely possibilities -- you are looking at a flood car or it was hit HARD and then repaired. So, unless you know what to look for, it would be wise (the opposite of dumb) to take the car to a trusted garage and have a trusted person (note the repeated use of the word "trusted") go over the car before you buy it.
There's a reason this car is so cheap. You need to find out what it is. After that you can work on paying for the car because you won't be able to finance it without insurance, and no reputable company will insure a car for theft or later damage if it has a salvage title.

I just got a title for a car that was given a salvage title due to it being stolen. The window was broken and the interior was stripped. Other than that the car is fine. Runs great, not a dent on it. I think there are alot of reasons the DMV gives a salvage title for.
i'd say most likely not, really matters whay it is salvage and what was done to fix it. as long as it is fixed properly looks good runs good for 3k i would do it. just have to remember when you go to sell it but 12k will last you a long time remember that so i like the deal
It's your uncle, So why not just ask him why it was totaled out? Also, if it as in an accident, have a frame shop measure up the specs and make sure everything is good to go. Also have them look at the area(s) that were repaired and make sure they were done right...But for $3k, can you really complain?

Kids kids stop fighting!! Hahahahaha lmao... And about the car well it seems to cheap for the price and only a bumper hit? I dont think so i didnt know only by cracking ur bumper ur car automatically goes salvage lol. But hey if it runs good go for it but later dont say we didnt told u.. Lol.
relax guys he's only 17 grammar doesn't come into affect until your a legal adult...salvage tittle doesn't matter to me thou, its not my car so idc..if you were buying it from a bank they would care but since this seems to be some kinda of fucted up deal between family members i would say you are probably safe..i would have it checked for frame damage thou...if there is frame damage it may not allow you to preform some mods that you want to do in the future... my .02
