Question about S2000 cat on ITR...
Quick question for anyone in the know. I am currently running a USDM ITR header, 2.25 test pipe, stock B-pipe, and, 5 Zigen Fireball axle-back.
I would like to change my whole set up to the following:
Toda header/S2K cat/Greddy SP cat-back (for that old-school look)
My question is, what will have to be cut and/or welded to make this set up work? And please don't tell me about carsounds, etc. I'm willing to buy the cat new from Honda. I just need to know where to go form here. TIA.

You would probably have to modify the b pipe in length. What is the collector side on the toda? From the looks of my boy's setup its 2.5 and the s2000 cat is a 2.5 as well. I believe 99% sure it would work fine in your application, but as far as bungs for the 02 sensors are concerned, thats could be a problem, extending the factory wires of the harness. Personally I would go for the jdm 4-1, s2000 cat and I know for a fact you would have no problems with 02's.

why do you want to go w/ the S2K cat, out of curiousity? I would think it's a lot more restrictive than an aftermarket (not specifically carsound)

becasue maybe the likely hood of the s2k cat failing will be less then the carsound? i was running rich as hell with my old toyota and the cat lasted till 85K. whereas the carsound...who knows. i just bought one from sms and im crossing my fingers about it falling apart...cos it aint cheap.

The only thing that is
is that S2K cat is about 2.5-3x the cost of bolt-on carsound cat.

I thought it was a ceramic core, not metal. At around $600 for the s2k cat, good luck...
I know there are several JDM cats that are metal-core and cost $500-800.
just wondering why you dont want carsound or something else when s2k cat's expensive as hell
is it worth it? or you just hate all other cats?
what's going on?

2nd reason is that Carsounds, Randoms, etc, all cost much less but are prone to premature failiure, and if I wanted a CEL I'd just keep my test pipe.
H-PIMP - if you want to be a test-mule, we can get you a JDM metal-core cat... which the quality will be just as good or better than S2k cat.
Would Not work, you would have to cut up the Cat as close to the body as you can and then add on the New Tubing, Flanges, flared Pipe, O2 Bungs Etc. Weld it all on, make it proper length and should work fine, But its Alot of money to spend.
Thanks for the replys
I guess I only have two chioses. Either a carsound or a JDM metal core. WHere can I get one of those JDM cats?

Actually Even with the JDM ITR cat you would have to modify it, It is shorter by about 5" and the O2 Bung is not there Instead there is a smaller bung for a heat sensor.
So you would need to cut the rear section and lengthen it and add an O2 bung to it.
I think Anton said Yasu had a Used one? I never had any luck trying to get new ones here.
