Default EF Hatch B16 Build?

so i found a b16 block with crank, rods, pistons, and hes throwing in some cams and intake mani, for 60 bucks for everything, but the pistons need new rings, anyways my plan is to put a b16 head on, and run itr valves, springs, and skunk or buddy cams, and use type r pistons, and its going to be all motor. so would type r internals be better for higher revving/racing? please help thanks if not what internalls would be

if you're replacing internals might as well go aftermarket with titanium valve springs and retainers. I would trust that a lot more than factory stuff especially if you're going with aggressive cams.

well i could be a d!ck like the guys on cincystreetscene and laugh at you and call you a tard like they did me but i find that really ignorant!! my friend had a b16 with ctr pistons and itr cams(which i have now for mine) and itr valve springs and he got a p28 off ebay when he got the ecu it had a d!ck drawn on it well it had no rev limiter what so ever that car ran insanely good it would chirp 4th with ease, they never read the tune they ended up crushing it cause it eventually blew the car up cause he used some sort of rpm calculator and in 3rd gear doing 115 he was at like 14k rpms or something when it gave. good luck with your build!!

ya they've got good stuff and ya it doesn't sound like too bad of a price if it just needs rings and it will be a good platform for your car....

I'd be just a little more curious about a motor that needs just "rings." Usually there's more to it than that. Just a heads up

its not the motor, i mean it is lol, im only buying the block but it has the pistons and rods and crank in, he said the pistons need rings but i want to just throw some type r ones in pistons that is, and buy a head and build both up from the ground,

It may have badly scored cylinder walls, etc. therefore needing expensive machine work, or the block could be cracked somewhere, theres so much to go wrong when your talking used.

Its a good deal but if it needs rings, the bores are most likely shot. Do yourself a favor and get oversized pistons and a fresh bore and hone.
