Default ZC Hood

My '89 CRX has the JDM steel ZC hood, I love the look, but would like to save weight, but keep the same style. Does anyone make the ZC style hood in carbon fiber? I know JDMhondaparts does, but they don't ship their hoods according to the website. Is my ZC hood worth anything if I tried to sell it? Maybe someone would trade me for a CF hood! haha

AFAIK, Fiberimages sells the stock Si hood and the SiR-style hood only, and not the ZC.

If and when I get mine, I'm assuming that I'll go with pins; I can't imagine putting on a cf hood without 'em.

Somebody up above didn't read my post before posting, but I won't name any names. As far as fitment, my ZC hood doesn't fit all that great. As for selling my ZC hood, can anybody tell me what it is worth? Thanks.

I have that same hood from Fiber Images, The SiR Style CF Hood. Ive taken the car up to 140+ MPH without hood pins and the hood didnt budge. Its good stuff.

That is good to know. I might be looking to get another CF hood. But when I took my JHP ZC to 100mph with their hood locks and the think flew into my windsheild. guess it help to get better quality locks or pins next time.

it looks like it did some damage to the roof also. is that right?

edit: and another question, when the hood flew up. did the hinge on the CF hood break off the hood?

CR-X there are a number of companies that I have had experiences with. Fiber Images so far has been #1 in my books. Within the next year or so I will be dealing with a Carbon Fiber manufacturer in Japan thats suppose to be better than any US made hood. Updates on that will be given upon recieving the item and testing.

To the companies that are out there, I give both Benen and Fiber Images a for quality that withstands wind-hitting high speeds without hood pins.
