Dear D series GODS help me !!!
K i know most of u will link me too other post which is cool with me but here are my questions
i have a D15b7 in my 94 civic
which manifold should i run this is what i have
D16z6 (recommended locally)
D15b7 on car now
D16a6
and what i believe is a y7 top mount TB
also
would a A6 cam be better or the same for my d15b7
i am debating doing the z6/b7 mini me build is it worth it or should i just run the b7 ??

- yes the a6 cam would be a nice upgrade for b7
i would do a mini-me, so just keep the block and put a vtec head on it with the z6 intake manifold. Then get a vtec ecu.

im kinda scared of doin the mini me build is it really worth it cause as of right now i have a what seems to be a strong b7 also this weekend the b7 is getting new head gasket timing belt and water pump so ... kinda leaning toward seein what i could do with the B7 but ears are open and welcome to opinions

if your doing head gasket waterpump and timing belt wouldnt you think its exactly the time to do this mod??? if your considering it this much and u put your b7 head back after that job u will be making a mistake and u will regret it
well out of a non-vtec itll always be harder to get horsepower but if u really want to you can do it. yes the Z6 manifold will help and so will the A6 cam. to upgrade i would do a skunk 2 stage 1 cam and camgear, skunk 2 intake manifold, lightweight UD pulley, CAI, headers + hi flow cat + catback exhaust, chipped ECu w/ a good dyno tune.
ps. me i have the same B7 which i was going to upgrade with a B16A but i put the performace on hold because im undecided now(boosted LS maybe) so ima do suspension and cosmetic work first.

Ok u guys talk me into it i will wait to do the headgasket and stuff any ideas of WHP of a minor modded D15b7 to a mini me what the differences a big or small gain ?? i have a p28 and a chipped p28 vtec ready so i have everything ready for a mini me build but i have confidence in the b7 thats in it. Motor seems Strong and pulls good but if this mini me is so much better please help me decide i know nothing of this mini me build all i know is its high comp but how reliable is it ?? N20 friendly ?? WHP ?? please convince me this is better than building up a b7
Oh and i had a z6 head on a y8 block in my old 95 coupe and was really disapointed but if the plans are a go that motor will be going in a crx this weekend but will still have full A6, full B7,Z6 head ,3 trans for the EG

me and my homie are putting a d15b vtec(identical to USDM z6 head) Head on his d15b7 and trust me a d15b6 compared to my d15b that had a blow ring in #1 cyl pulled better than that d15b7! Trust me Me in a eg and him in a EF

Were putting on a d15b vtec head on it.(same as USDM d16z6)
And the d15b7 is Not gunna do you Justice. i whooped on my homie with the d15b7 in his EF stock and me in my EG with about 200 Pound of passengers in my car and him alone. i had a JDM d15b with cold air same with him just a drop in k&n.
You wont regret it. VtaK FTW!!!!
Edit: trust me man i was offerd a full b16 swap for 1000$ and i passed it up for a d16z6 for my build im doing.
Come on whooping on a DOHC with a SOHC makes em feel retarted. but im going Nitrious for a while.

A JDM D15b is basically a d15z1 block with P28 pistons and a d16 head.
but you make more power with a mini me(what ive read) because of a longer Rod stroke.
you make like 2-3 Hp more.
but if it was a d15b7 to a mini me i would choose the mini me.

I dont know what you will make but i do know youll make about 20- 25 Hp more with the mini me than with the d15b7
but for the parts you have this is what i would do:
Y8 Block
z6 head
Y8 head gasket(thinner)
Ex Tranny
y8 IM if you have one.
me im running a 92 D16z6 block with a 94 d16z6 head with JDM d15b cam and a y8 head gasket, Still putting it together tho!

how about this i put my z6 head on my B7 and i have access to a JDM D15B cam any different?? gasket matched Z6 Manifold + already mentioned goodies ???

yea just throw your d16z6 head on your block, wire vtec, and the 4 wire o2 and walla 20 HP and you have vtec
The z6 head is way much better than the d15b7 head, thats why it only came in the 92-95 ex/si cars
Now dont go trying to find a jdm d15b cam cause its just a bit more aggressive.

look dude, if you have a Z6 head than put it on. Otherwise do Y8 head, and Y8 IM/TB, it flows alot better than the Z6 or any other D series manifold.
And no a b7 Z6 isnt a D15B at all.
Also get a Bisimoto intake manifold gasket (or hondata) as they add 7-10WHP (dyno proven). And put a decent header and exhaust on there (dont spend 1000$ on this).
If you wanna make good power with a D series, just boost it. They will suprise the **** out of you when you spank B series swaps all day.
