Default "Grinding" noise

1990 CRX Si, for a while now there's been a noticable grinding sort of noise when I'm driving around, primarily in first and second gear. It shifts fine and everything, it's just the noise. Originally I was told it was the throwout bearing, but a friend also said it could be my transmission fluid... Except it's a manual, I'm not sure how to check my tranny fluid. Someone else said something about my slave cylinder? I'm so lost.

well you can look on the passenger side of your tranny and the will be two bolts one that takes a 17mm by the axle and the other at the bottom it takes like a 3/8 drive rachet you can take it off and drain it then fill it through the top one till it starts to pour out then its full i'm pretty sure you can use 10w/30 motor oil

Thanks... I'll try that when it's not so dark out and I can actually see what I'm doing.
