All Turbo Sport Compact Event - BEAVER SPRINGS,PA MAY 30TH
I was just over visiting the Beaver Springs website and came across this event they just added to their 2009 Schedule....I expect this thing to be a huge event!! I just talked to the track owner 'Beaver Bob' and he will be emailing me the RULES and CLASSES....even an 'Exhibition' class for anything goes..if it's a sport compact and has a turbo...there will be a class for YOU! Hopefully I will be able to squeeze out payouts also.
Blouch Performance Turbo in Lebanon, PA, a name synonymous in the turbo industry as the leader in performance upgrades will be presenting the Inaugural All Turbo Sport Compact GO!! on Saturday, May 30th at the Beaver. The high light of the event will be Top Turbo: EVO verses STi Shootout between the 8 low ET qualifiers (4 EVO vs. 4 STi) to settle just who is the fastest on the East Coast. All makes of Turbocharged Sport Compacts are welcome both import and domestic.

$30 to race
$10 spectator
Top Turbo: 8 low ET qualifiers (4 EVO vs. 4 STi)
Heads up, first to the finish. Cash awards. This eliminator is restricted to EVO's and STi's only. Reason: It's the sponsors area of interest. Plus it's the biggest rivals.
Wildcard: 8 cars closest in ET. Heads up, first to the finish. Cash awards
Hot Street: Top half of the field, handicap, auto dial in. With Performance Run Under in effect. Trophies
Jr. Street: Lower half of the field, handicap, auto dial in. With Performance Run Under in effect. Trophies
Fast Forward: All front wheel drive cars, handicap, auto dial in. With Performance Run Under in effect. Trophies
Exhibition: Real race cars, or any car that is not street legal, heads up first to the finish. Cash awards
All competitors must be street legal. Licensed, inspected and mufflers. Any tire is permitted. Any car not meeting these rules will run in exhibition.
We're keeping it all pretty simple. Sort of like a big Friday Night/Stop Light Drags event, but just for Turbocharged Sport Compact entries.
FYI: These eliminators are not cast in cement and can be modified after reviewing input from competitors. But as it stands, we're getting a lot of positive feed back.
Also, we're inviting vendors. Their cost is only $50 plus some neat product that we can give away. Any vendor needs to contact BSD or Blouch.
I want to add that we'll need your support in helping us make this event a success and an on going annual event. We appreciate any help/suggestions you can give up.
Possible Honda-tech Attendees:
1. hondacivic946
2. txihondatec
3. Civic89stdB16
4. BoostR41
5. BoostingSnail
6. cpierich

I cant believe something this big is coming to beaver springs
, I think it would be held at Maple Grove before BS. The water boxes dont even work for FWD car at all since the wood walls are so close to it.

Well this event is sport compacts only...no big blocks on the property/strip...I understand your pain on the waterboxes...but do you think you would miss this event just bc of the waterboxes??...lol
I think this is more for bragging rights than it is payouts...payouts will not be in the 4 figure range I can tell you that....but a class or two might be close
yes I would miss the event if there is no waterbox. Your telling me they are puttin this event together but can't have a waterbox for fwd?
They have a waterbox...they just usually have wooden backstops and you cant just pull straight up into the water....thats all....more than likely they will put water down for the cars where need be or do without the backstops....
I heard that 1320x TV will be there filming the event...dont know if this will hold up for sure or not

True true but keep us posted on the details...map quest shows it is only a 6 hr drive from Columbus, Oh if payouts look decent I may consider.
But there is an added feature that most tracks dont do....The timing computer gives you an automatic dial-in....I think it takes your quickest ET and that's your dial....then at the race...someone will draw a card...and that card will allow racers to either run .07, .10, or .13 under your index.
They have this format for their Saturday Stop Light Drags...and it is really fun...I enjoy it much more than friday night street legal events.
The sport compact race will have a real tree and not the stop light that they use for stop light drags.

The IMSTAR at MIR this same weekend will be much better. Not very smart on BS's part to try to hold an event the same weekend as an IMSTAR event at MIR.
We will have our cars at MIR.
and MIR has burnout boxes....lol

This event was mainly put together by the people at Blouch turbo. Beaver Springs just agreed to hold the event.
There isnt much you can do about trying to schedule an event when another event is going on.
It's just something that is gonna happen.
EDIT: I just went to MIR's site..according to their 2009 schedule this is what is listed for May 30th:
May 30, Sat, Big Rig Truck Nationals

The Imstar event is Friday night, so some racers could make both races if they wanted to. The one Hot Rod races is scheduled to take place at the Imstar race also.
This is shaping up to be a very nice event....many turbo cars all over PA are coming. There should be a nice crowd on hand even though this isnt a high dollar race.
