What do you mean by hood damper? Do you mean like a turbo vent or an air intake /hood scoop?
There are probably a few out there that will fit. early year WRX comes to mind. It's whether or not they will look good. And how much metal cutting & fiberglass work your up to too doing to get it to look good. Most of the newer style scoops are built into the hood with just a grill insert that can be removed. That sort of ram air scoop won't work without a bit of hood modification.

Oh and here I was thinking that there may actually be a thread containing some DIY or requiring something more than what you could find in a 30 second google search or 10 minutes at the junk yard.
Any strut that is rated for the same weight will work.....Probably get some good strong ones off an early 90's domestic. Oldsmobile, Ford, Chev you name it they will have hood struts that will throw up your hood. I know for a fact that the 94 Oldsmobile Achieva has a good strong pair.

acura legend ones will work
get the brackets with them and you can bolt them to one of the fender bolts and the other side you will drill into the upper part of the hood hinge
pretty easy to do
