alright my friend has a civic cx hatch, has b20V, his VTEC cracks with the p30 he has, but as soon as he puts in a p28 cherry or chipped it doesnt work?? we've tried at least 4 5 p28 ecu's and nothing?? anyone kno why this might be happening?
its not supposed to "crack." its supposed to engage

Maybe the p28 has a more optimal crossover point for performance of that particular motor thus a quieter transition into vtec, technically that cool noise that makes your manhood grow was designed to be quiet and smooth.
I dunno bro any cels with the p28s?
I find it unlikely that every p28 refuses to hit vtec in your car.

mach0 thanks for trying but my problem isnt the way i say the engagment of VTEC, i need help with something else, turbojdmhatch, thanks too but i dont need help with what actually starts working, and moving or "ENGAGING" at 5500 rpms, well anyways another issue, is i tried checking for cel codes but my friends wires were messed up so next time i c it imma mess wit em. another thing that im iffy about is that the vtec is wired up straight to the ecu, the VTEC solenoid ground is grounded to one of the 3 10m bolts, so i dont know if that might be why this is happening.
well, if your friends car engage in vtec with a p30 ecu then it must not be the wiring at all.. hrmm.. you say your running a chipped p28 are you sure? you sure its not a bone stock p28 ecu? any check engine lights? trouble idling or rough idling? check your oil if its low then that may be your problem.

we can hear it and feel it with the p30, not the p28 cant hear or feel.
what you mean by secondarys? are you talking about the IAB solenoid found in the gsr manifold or h22?? he has a b20 vtec..
well, if your friends car engage in vtec with a p30 ecu then it must not be the wiring at all.. are the p28 ecus chipped or programmed for dohc? are you just running a stock p28?

we've tried both, we had a p28 chipped that my friend has on his gsr eg coupe, we tried another one that was on a LSV hatch, we also tried a stock p28 and other p28's.
