Default what is safe boost for a stock gsr?

i need to know how high i can boost my car on a stock motor. please let me know asap

wrong section but since im here might as well tell you that safe is a range. safe will be based on your setup. but so far my friends taken his bone stock gsr to 21 psi.

i ran 9 psi.. im running 12 now.. nothings happened..

There isn't really a safe level, it depends on the health of your motor.

I think you should be asking how much horsepower can a GSR handle before my stock internals snap.

Boost pressure is irrelevant, hp is what is relevant. You will be safe under 400whp depending on the condition of your engine.

I have the same question.
But i have heart that not HP will kill an engine, but torque.
What is a safe number of torque with a gsr?? (around 250?)

as little of advice as this is it is very true!

honestly i my self wouldnt do more than 8 psi. and really i would of done a few supporting mods first to help make your car healthyer and stronger IMO

300-350 WITH A LEGIT TUNE would be my guess.. ill be running about that much but with forged rods and pistons and all arp bolts..

mine survived a 25psi+(boost gauge only goes till 25) for 4 gears, then I realized that I had the waste gate hooked up wrong

on a stock gsr,

use 10 psi, same as stock map sensor.

theres people making over 400 for a long time now. but in the 300 range is pretty safe.

Wow...i'm surprised this thread made it as long as it did.

As with all turbo setups, PSI is irrelevant. Each turbo makes a different amount of power at a different Pressure Ratio. On your stock GSR on pump gas, you're limited to around 300-325whp safely. With higher octane fuels like E85 or race gas, you can make more; however, with added power comes added stress on internal parts.
