im not new to this site and im not a friggin ricer, searched around a bit and im just wondering if a 88-89 crx front bumper and support will fit on a 90-91 hatch...has anyone tried it?
or will any crx bumper fit on any civic chassis...with the support?

 

Me too, we been discussing it for a while. Wanted to see if it'll fit without using crx fenders. Also delete the civic front filler piece all together for the cleaner look.

 

i know, i know, try it and see. I would if I had a crx bumper.

 

i have a ef9 front end on my rex so the answer is yes it will work

on the hatch? no, we dont need those crx fenders on the hatch.

 

isnt it different where it meets the fender and corner light though.

 

well instead of using our filler bumper combo. we just use the full bumper from the crx is what we asking

 

im not 100% on this but ive looked into it. from what i have heard if you must use the crx fenders you have to use a hatch fender and cut and weld it onto the rex fender at the bottom to get rid of the black piece. if you can in fact use a crx hood and front bumper and keep the front hatch fenders then im doing it. i wanna see proof before i go grab it from the junk yard though

 

ive heard that also. just need some one to measure the crx bumper from the end right under the corner light to the back like the wheel well. hood is same headlights the same. i just want the plastic bumper cover and no filler and use a 88hf support to save a lil weight

 

The hoods are the same, to do a usdm->usdm swap you need:

bumper cover
bumper absorber
bumper beam
bumper beam mounts
fenders
fender/bumper brackets
corner lights

This is for CRX front on a hatch, for a hatch front on a CRX you also need the bumper filler.

I had a 91 CRX and a 91 hatch and I swapped front ends for awhile. As was stated, the CRX fender has the black plastic lower stuff, so does the bumper, and that wont look right w/o more work.

 

well thats nothing paint cant fix. so you really dont need the fenders

 

yes, you do need the fenders. The only thing you don't need is the hood.

I dont get it, why would we need fenders when sticking with the hatch corners? After looking at cbe front end and the crx, where the bumper meet up the fender, that appear to fit.

 

yeah hatch fenders no fillercrx bumper.. i mean it might not fit perfect but this is for a track set up.

 

the only thing thats gonna be work is the fixing of the hatch fenders to work to get rid of the bottom crx piece. but if its a track only setup then who cares what it looks like if weight is your only concern

 

ok i dont under stand what the fenders matter im concerned with the corner light area wher the bumper mates up with the fender. if they are close to the same length it will bolt on. thats what im asking?

 

Thats what i am still debating on. I need to find me a bumper to test it on.

 

i used the hood fenders bumper bumper support radiator t bar headlights and modified the lil filler pieces between the door and wheel

a bigger pic of that would help. loldont get it twisted. the only reason i asked this was because the cars painted and I dont want to cut the fender. I was just asking if the bumper cover would actuallt bolt on....with a HF support
