Crank no start... sorry
Sorry for another thread like this I see there is tons of them. N00b here but I need help. A little about my set up, 91 CRX with a 91 LS odb0 with the bolt ons. Well here is the story:This past Tuesday it snowed here in NC, up until this point my car ran GREAT! Well I went out wendsday to warm up my car before work. I went inside did some stuff and heard my car shut off, I then went outside to see what was the matter and I had a check engine light with a code 15 ( ignition output signal). I fiddled around with it for a bit then after it cooled off it started again. So by then i was late for work so I hopped in and drove off. Once the car warmed up to about operating temp it shut off again ( at a stop light with angry people behind me lol) gave me the same CEL and code. After reading my haynes manual and going through the igntion system check procedures I narrowed the cause to my igniter. The disturbutor was fairly new and it had a limited lifetime warrentee so I went and got a new one, it came in today and i put it in today. It started right up, I let it sit till it warmed up to make sure it wouldn't shut off and it didn't it idled till the fan came on, I then took it up and down the street to see if it would shut off and it didn't. So I came home parked it. A little later i left to go do some grocery shopping and after about 5 minutes of driving it shut off!! So after pushing and steering my car into a burger king parking lot i did a simple fuel test (I have a clear in-line fuel filter i could see the fuel going through it when switched to on) and a spark test (with a screw driver in the plug wires) I was getting no spark similar to before the only difference was this time i have no Code 15 or any codes for that matter.. With the distributor, coil, rotor being new I am going to rule those out. However When i put the LS into my car I did a DPFI to MPFI conversion and i recall the swap of the Crank postion sensors. I was thinking maybe the solder connections arnt so hot anymore but would it set a code nine for the sensor not working if the wiring was not working? Any help would be greatly appreciated this is my only car and i would like to get it fixed as soon as i can.. Thanks HT!
