Default 1988 honda accord lx won't start

hi my car won't start, I changed the battery cable and now the car doesn't react when i put the keys in the ignition, like no lights on the dashboard and no ignition. the battery is fine, we even tried a jump start but it didn't work. I'd appreciate help on this one cuz a car that won't even start is one of the most frustrating thing I've come across.
Thanks

Is anything at all lighting up?
Which battery cable did you replace?

hey thanks for the reply,
I changed the positive battery cable. Nothing is lighting up, nothing whatsoever. At this point I'm thinking of calling my insurance company and see if they can tow this to a mechanic. I just want to know if there's anything i can do to fix this, at least temporarily.
Thanks

You have two Fuse Boxes, one of these located on the right fender (under the hood) I believe.
Inside it there are several large fuses (some 50A), one marked "batt". I suspect it may have blown.
It would cut off all power. Check that first

yeah and MAKE SURE when you replace that battery cable you got a good tight connection on the starter and all the wires are hooked back up where they need to go. other then that, check the negative cable. Has to be clean and tight on the battery and on the engine block.
