diy how to remove side moldings
well honda-tech yesterday and today i was trying to remove my side moldings without breaking any clips. The first method that i tried was to remove the door panels and get them from inside. As many of you know there is a pice of metal???? there blocking the clips and i dint want to bend it. well i had a plan B and that was to remove the moldings from the outside. One side of the door was done with the yanking out method which lead me to 2 broken clips and an unhappy molding. at that moment i remembered about someone saying it can be done with a eating knife or other flat object. well here are some pics to start this diy
the first step would be to to remove the little nut holding the screw part of the molding

use pliers or a wrench to remove this do not pull on it it is screw
step #2 remove the clips ahhh the little clips i am to cheap to buy here is one

well know that you know how the clips functions it is time to take them off pull the side molding enough so that u know were the clip is exactly once u know were it is use your knife to push the tabs on the clips

this is what u should be doing

u can do one side of the tab but it is recomended that you do both at the same time dont use a screw driver (tried it) they are to bulky compared to a flat kitchen knife
continue doing this till u get all of the clips 5 in total

side molding with no broken clips
and here are the location of the clips

this is the one furtest to the left in the above pic as the body was dirty in that area
and that concludes the diy sorry about the crappy cellphone pics and spelling/grammer if u guys like it i will do a dyi on door moldings in a week or two
