Default Welded differential questions!!!

Sup guys names Rene, I wanted to know if it's ok to drive my EG6 on the streets like a daily driven car with a welded LSD, Is it ok to go more than 50MPH+ and be able to turn ok on curves without killing my self or hurting my car. Whats the worst that could happen??? please let me know, any info can help. Thanx.

Yea i am going to say that I dont even know if it is possible to do to a lsd considering that it uses clutch's and furthur more why would you want to if you have lsd. even if you didnt have lsd and had spider gears instead I still wouldnt do it. I dont know about any death worries but the weld will break after so many turns and then its going to go in the tranny gears and mess that up too so

Cool thanx, but the reason I ask is beacuse my car already has a welded LSD I didnt know until last week I decided to test my car out since it was just recently built never driven before after the built and notice that the car everytime I would try to move it turning forward/backward noticed that the car hops like crazy but when I go straight drives normal then I parked it never moved it at all cuz of that I thought it was something else wrong with the car LOL.

Im gona risk it out tonight driving around my house and im gona get on a highway see how it handles and how it feels, Ive noticed that you have to hold the steering wheel really hard otherwise it will just turn it all the way to the left or to the right depending with way your turning.

hey bro ima try and look out, people weld diffs for drag racing pourposes, dd is a BAD idea!! both wheels trun at same speed there for if turning right the inside wheel has bad traction and vice verse. this is a ticket to a bad frekin wreck! DONT RUN THAT SETUP UNLESS YOUR GOING IN A STRAIGHT LINE! and i second the weld braking and slinging off in the tranny, then your tranny lock up and you have wreck. so it will end badly no matter what......

It will chew your tires in a few weeks under NORMAL driving. There is absolutely no way to make a welded differential be reliable. I would just drag it a few times at the track for fun while I save and search for another differential or something.

If some one welded an LSD they're an idiot, the whole idea is that an LSD transfers equal power to both wheels, but will allow the inner wheel to travel slower going around a turn, you now have a completely useless expensive paper weight, congratulations. If someone welded a stock open differential they are only slightly less retarded, first off as already stated they will destroy tires, I personally knew a guy with a welded diff in a dodge ram back when I was in high school 5 years ago, you could literally see the whole truck twist going around turns. The weld will break, its also hard to steer.

Ok thanx for all your info. everyone. Well I took out for a spin that **** is ****ing hard as hell to handle and confusing, in one ocasion I had to go back in forth to make a turn not to mention a u-turn was a pain in the *** LOL, but when going straight that **** was a beast both tires grip like hell. After reading all your replies theres no way now im taking that car out untill I get another tranny with aftermarket LSD, I dont want my wheel to lock if the weld snaps end up having an accident.
