So after I go through a car wash with my 2001 gsr, I notice that my malfunction indicator light comes on. Any one know what would cause this? It just so happens that I have an appointment with acura tomorrow for routine maintenance. Should I ask them to look at anything specific? Also, I need to go somewhere tonight, would it be safe to drive the car?

 

did you check the code?????

 

The car may run in open loop but it's not an issue to drive it.

Have the shop run the engine codes with a scan tool. They can tell you what is wrong.

 

MIL/CEL can come on at anytime, the fact that you went through the car wash may have just been a coincidence.
Pull the code and let us know what Code it is.
