Default FAL fan not working correctly...video

The car started to overheat slightly before I made it home, came to a stop and I hear this nassty sound coming from the engine bay....turns out it's from the fan. It barley spins and some times it stops spinning completely. Check out the video...watch in HQ for better quality.

Wow, so soon? Is this typical or something else caused it to go out so soon?

Was the fan wired to be on constant? If so that can shorten the life of the fan.

I know a lot of people that run their fans constantly for years, even those cheap slims fans, and not have a problem.

it sounds like the motor is working like it should be but the fan blade hole is stripped out so it's basically free spinning on the motor shaft.

Is that a type of thing you can fix fairly easily? Haven't had time to really take a look at it yet.
