Default reseting ecu

I'm getting a AEM short ram intake and i was wondering after i install it do i have to manually reset the ecu ( if so how) and if not do i just drive around and it will reset itself ? also any experinces with an aem shortram ? good bad .. ?

I think it's good to reset the ECU, but make sure you have the security code for the radio before you do that.

Good luck, hope you like the sound of your intake better than I did.

oh no .... were do i get the security code for my radio ??? i bought my car used ... i dont know it off hand were can i find that out ?

did you buy it off someone or the dealer? I think either way you can just call a dealer and ask them, all they do is ask some questions and give you the code.

yea i bought my car off a used car dealership i guess i should give em a call and find it out .. but will my intake configure automatically on the ecu after a day ? without any problems

not that fast, I read somewhere it maybe days or weeks. Just reset the ECU and follow the instructions from that post, it's super easy. I think that will give you a better first impression of the intake.
