1/4 mile posts
Alright i know that the gtec is inaccurate and all except when in open areas ... so me and my friend with a maxima went to an open plain and ran the 1/4. this was my best eta ... i took off the spare and any other loose things i could find to reduce weight and i had half a tank of gas
my 2k ls ran a
0-60 7.9
1/4 15.82
my car is stock any other people get this low on there stock lses ? previously i had a 16 flat did the tire and gas and all the junk outta my trunk make that much diff ?

Those GTechs are sometimes pretty inaccurate..
I used one on a loop service road, and the smallest amount of gravel from a fresh pave threw it WAY off... it said I was running a 17.6 at 103mph...
Haven't tried it again though... choose a nice hard, smoothe road.

i ran a 15.7 in my LS bone stock with lowered tire pressure... all it had was intrax springs and gutted trunk and 93 octane... that was at Gateway INTL raceway. if i had a scanner id post the timeslip. (and if i could find it)... i believe it was at 88mph. havent ran with the b20 with the t25@10psi and n2o to the IC.

Yea G-Tech is crap, jus pay $50 for a real dyno or take it to the track, those things dont even give close to accurate measurements and it has to be under certain conditions
Yeah, at a track. Exactly. A place where a guy payed thousands of dollars to get it perfectly level. Plus there's the tree. And I guarantee the "trap" speed of the G-Tech was higher than the actual trap speed.
There is a long straight highway near my house with a light at the beginning, it is like the perfect spot for street racing, I borrowed a friend's Gtech for a few days and one night I came to the light. I set it up and waited for the light. It is a long light so I actually for got about the Gtech being on. I just left normal and kept doing the speed limit. It said I ran a 16.5 @ 88 mph and I never went over 50mph.
I've used and tested GTECH in conjunction with actual track times.
Bottom line: If you take the time to get it exactly level and run on level ground it is VERY accurate. It matches my 1/4 times to .1-2. tenths. If you look at how it works it can only be accurate if you set it up and do it right. Physics are physics.
The traps speeds it generates are usually around 3mph higher since it gives a true reading, not an average like at a real track.
Hp measurements: Now I would never trust this over a dyno and its pretty much pointless since it doesn't show your whole curve but it said that my Type-R when it was bone stock put down 162.9hp which is pretty darn close if you ask me.
Of course these are my observations and I'm sure opinions will vary.
