Azenis road noise?
So I just spent the last three days reading like 6+ pages of archived threads about these tires and no one seems to be conclusive about how loud these things are on the road at highway speeds. Anyone care to help me out?
I'm currently on dunlop fm901's, and while they're a decent tire they hum at speeds >40 to the point where my head hurts...
Some say the azenis' are loud like snow tires while others say they aren't bad at all...
Also, I do a ton of highway driving (1000 mile trips at at time...), and some auto-x. If not the azenis, can you guys suggest a tire that might be better for me? (Wear really isn't an issue)
Tom (who realizes that we talk about these tires a lot, but could still use some help)

you have no sound deafening material. if you were really worried about road noise, why get the itr?
they arent too noisy. no noisier than stock.

the azenis' humming noise can be annoying (esp on concrete highways), but I think the yokohama A520s are just as annoying, if not more so.

shi - who doesn't mind a little annoying tyre sounds as long as they perform well

Unfortunately this issue is subjective and road noise production varies significantly depending on the car's suspension setup and how the tires wear with age.

The first couple of weeks I drove it, I heard a weird sound everytime I changed lanes. Turns out the sound came from the wheels going over the lane dividers. It's louder than stock but it's not loud to the point of where I get annoyed.
Who cares about road noise, we drive ITRs not Lincoln Town Cars.
I could not tell you if I ever heard a difference in the three diff tires I had on the car.
most Jap. high end tires are noisy...
if you want some quiet and good tires.. go with european.
I had michilin pilot sport.. on my GTI and they were awesome..
better than the S02 I had in my audi A4.
but european tires are big $$$ most of time.
