Engine flush didn't work
My Civic si was idling like a tractor the other day so I thought since I just got it for Xmas, it may have been a long time since anyone changed the oil. I decided to go ahead and change the oil. I dont usually do that but i was told it was not difficult. I used Royal Purple synthentic oil like I was reccomended on this forum.
Anyway I drain the oil and noticed it was extremely dark and even after 10 minutes of draining, it was still coming out. I decided to go ahead and flush it to make sure all the bad oil got out. I hooked up the high pressure hose we have here at work, so I ran water through the engine, started it up and I was waiting for the water to come out clean
The engine never went above idle but my buddy told me this would be ok. Anyway, About 3 minutes into this, then engine starts shaking and shuts off. I figured it was all cleaned out so I plugged it up, added the oil and I was ready to go. WRONG! The damn thing won't start now. These new civics aren't as reliable as my old one. Looks like another trip to the dealer.
I'm sick of these new cars.

Im not a mechanic or anything, but im not sure why you ran high pressure water through your motor. Anyone who understands simple chemistry understands that water and oil do not mix, so running water over oil wont flush anything out. Then you ran the motor with no oil till it stalled? Thats kind of weird. Hope you didnt cease it. Good luck. Hopefully someone on here can give you some more help.
I think you should take this thread down. Not a good idea to say this on honda-tech. Your first mistake is coming to a forum, asking and relying on what random people say. Number 2 your friend is an idiot stop listening to him and do some research on your own. Number 3 you probably lock up the motor because water is not a good lubricant. It washed all the oil out of the water and the pistons are now stuck in the cylinder bores. But who knows the extent of engine damage. Here's a good plan for you. Step 1 go to auto parts store and buy a Haynes manual and read it keep it. step 2 Search Honda-tech for solid information on maintenance and repair (easily found because they are usually Sticky status or have a lot of replies from people who have tried the repair and are happy with the thread information. Ask questions, call dealerships, ask older people (dad, uncles) get an overall idea of who is actually right about the specific problem your having, because there is usually someone will say do it this way and someone else will say do it that way. Thats why it pays to READ as you now found out. Your friend left your *** without a leg to stand on and probably gave you a lame *** excuse as to why the "flush" didn't work. You would research what motor to put back in, is the car worth the time and money, or should you do an engine swap.

I really hope you didnt use WATER in your engine, honestly please say you did not do that.
Why on earth would you listen or even believe someone that says to run WATER through your engine, it would not only possibly cause mineral build up and maybe even plug stuff up, but its ****in water dude, you now have rust on the inside of your engine, your pistons are more than likely seized now and quiet possible that your engine is now dead.

you know it's funny because when i read engine flush for about half a second the thought went through my mind that this clown *** mother****er ran a hose but i thought naaa... people never cease to amaze me.
