obd2 harness adapter question
Yup, that looks like the OBD2B to OBD2A. But it looks like you need an OBD2A to OBD2B conversion harness. The first OBD listed is the OBD of the harness/car. The 2nd OBD listed for the conversion harnesses is the OBD for the ECU. So I'm assuming you have a '96-'98 Civic, and you're trying to use a '99-'00 (or '01) ECU?
i have a 97 civic trying to run a 00 d16y8 so i got the wrong adapter ?
and also i hear somthing about me having to change the distributor also

If you are using the ECU that came with the '00 D16Y8, then yes, you got the wrong conversion harness. You need an OBD2A to OBD2B one. And yes, the distributor wiring is different as well. Your stock '97 harness has a 10-pin plug (with 9 wires connected), and the '00 Y8 distributor has an 8-wire plug (with 8 wires connected). But if you have your original '97 distributor, that will work.
