d16z6 to d16y8 swap need help.

Icon2 d16z6 to d16y8 swap need help.

i need to no what parts r inter changeable i want to put the z6 head on the y8 what wouldthat do will it work? will it do any thing in putting it into a 92 hatch and chaging it to obd1. need sum help.

Well the head will work but u will make less power. Then u can use basically all the rest of ur same Stuff just some plugs won't plug in.

keep the y8 head or just the intake manifold... really i would keep the z6 block though the y8 has poor oil circulation

Are you trying to get HP gains?
they say the y8 intake mani on the z6 head creates better air flow
the z6 intake manifold is longer then the y8
BUT the y8 intake manifold is much wider, which creates a "pocket" of air before it enters the runners after going through the TB,
now I'm sure if you hooked up a larger TB and aftermarket fuel rail,pressure regulator,aftermarket injectors you would notice the engine would breathe a hell of alot better...

the Y8 manifold flows the best of the D series manifolds.
