Question about swap
Hey I am trying to figure out what kind of car I want. I know I want a hatch, but don't know which gen. I want. I am looking hard into eg's, but have recently been looking at ef's since they are so cheap. I was wondering what other advantages the ef's have over eg's. Does it have the OBD1 ecu? Can you swap any b18 straight into the car, because I would really like to go ls/vtec.
Thanks alot, sorry for the noob questions.

ok first off. efs are cheap and a good place to start. also, the motor and all wiring/ecu is obd0. With a b18 swap you will need mounts, shift linkage, ecu, axles, ect. look up the b-series swap in the FAQ
Ye the thing is I would like to be kind of unique and you don't see too many people driving nice ef's, so I will have to do some more researching to see what I want to do. Thanks, ye I'll check that out.
If your gonna buy an 88-91(ED) make sure its got multipoint, it will make it that much easier for you. So dont buy a DX. Also accept the fact you will find rust in the rear quarters, rockers, and or dog legs.
ED=usdm 88-91 hatch,sedan,crx (LHD)
EF=jdm 88-91 hatch,sedan,crx (RHD)
ED=usdm 88-91 hatch,sedan,crx (LHD)
EF=jdm 88-91 hatch,sedan,crx (RHD)
rust is gonna be there
ef's are far and few between in decent shape
you have to buy aftermarket mounts for a b series swap
not a mass over abundance of parts like the 92-95s
both nice tho
