Default Honda Prelude - Engine Misfire

Hey guys, I am trying to repair an engine misfire problem but need a little help. Here are the details.

CEL Error Code: 71 (Random Misfire Cylinder 1)

I replace all wires, dis. cap and spark plugs. I have noticed that there is a small crack on the ignition coil, but I would think that a problem like that would effect all 4 cylinders, not just #1.

Additionally, I had a compression test done. They tell me all 4 cylinders are within spec, but cylinder 1 was the lowest (I forget the number but I believe it was above 100 psi).

Any help on this issue would be very appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott

im pretty sure that an h23 should compression test around 210, or atleast thats the number that sticks out in my head its been about 5 years since i tested my old prelude.

Yeah, I really think at this point that it is a compression issue. What is my best/worse case scenario $$$ wise if that is it?

Is it possible that the cracked ignition coil is causing the problem?

BTW, it is a 1997 SH.

Thanks,
Scott
