this was my engine bay before:

Smurf bukkake LS valve cover, flat black CAI.
this is what I had been working on (off and on) for the last week or so:
OBD-2 LS/ B20 Valve cover (killer deal from my ninja Ricky, aka 8urcivic) *hit him up, he's got more
after it was stripped and I applied a nice coat of Duplicolor Metalcast Ground-Coat

after a few coats of Anodized Blue:

Cold-Air Intake color matched to the valve cover:

SO. What does the finished product look like all installed?
After all the coats of paint (I applied two more coats of blue on the valve cover) and polishing the letters, the valve cover and intake are installed:

I will be putting on the Cold-Air extension tomorrow, it was WAY too cold to be out messing around taking the bumper off etc. It will be in the mid to upper 50's here tomorrow, so I can tolerate that.
I personally think the duplicolor Anodized Blue color creates a shade VERY CLOSE to Captiva Blue Pearl, so anyone interested in doing any of their engine bay components (VC, intakes, strut bars etc.) I'd recommend using this stuff. MAKE SURE TO GET THE GROUND COAT, or else it won't look metallic, and the color would be terrible looking. TRUST ME. It'll take about 5 even coats to get it to be almost a perfect match, but as you can tell, its pretty damn close.
Discuss.
ALSO, I need to find the member on here that was selling Plug Wire covers for these valve covers. I am looking for one in carbon fiber. I was searching around the site for the better part of 2 hours the other day and couldn't find anything.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

as soon as it warms up it will be detailed. I used to detail the engine bay on a bi-weekly basis, but I got out of habit. I'm going to do the exhaust manifold heat shield in flat black really soon. As well as picking up a set of Spoon reservoir covers
I'm not TOO worried about the bay at the moment, this is pretty much the last phase of my engine bay before my swap. (Built B20VTEC 85x92 bore/stroke, respectively. Very aggressive build, should be in the neighborhood of 250whp when completed)
when the new motor goes in, the bay will receive a mild tuck. Nothing crazy, just getting rid of some clutter. battery will be replaced and relocated as well. Fluidyne radiator with Samco hoses will also accompany the swap

put the cold air extension on yesterday, here are some pics.

the last time I had the Cold Air extension off, i noticed that there was a slight nick in the pipe, from where the pipe had made contact with the metal hole. I decided to use a little preventative measures this time (especially with how much time i put into these projects) I had an extra 3" piping coupler that I put around the piping where it was going to be going through the body, so that the rubber coupler (which is about 1/4" thick) would take the impact, as well as keep any unnecessary vibrations down
here's a couple pics of where the pipe went through the body, behind the bumper:

*right up against it, but there won't be any damage done to the pipe this time around.

the dirty rad overflow neds to go into the bumper or get replaced, and you mentioned throwing some bbq grille paint on your heat shield. theres a few little other things you could do, but over all, nice example of a "work and back" DA integra.
nice little project, looks cleaner. You should clean up some other parts and make a nice spotless bay, maybe clean up your heat shield and give it a nice bbq black coat

thanks a lot. the lug nuts are actually aftermarket, and came blue. just some ebay lugs for now. wanting to order some Ray's blue lugs before long.
with the intake and valve cover, i stripped the VC with aircraft remover to get all the old paint off.
used high temp primer on both.
then sprayed each of them with Duplicolor Metal-Cast "Ground Coat" (gives a metallic looking base)
sprayed each with about 7-8 coats of Duplicolor Metal-Cast "Anodized Blue" to get the color I achieved (which is really close to the color of the car, actually.
Then I used about 4 coats of High Temp Clear coat to seal it all in, and really make them pop.
after it was all done, i wetsanded both again, with 1000g, and 1500g, then buffed and polished each (as best as i could) to get a gorgeous finish. in person, they are both breath-taking to look at.
thanks again, for the compliments. I hope that helps

i was thinking about getting the whale *****, but since i'll have to relocate the battery anyway, i figured i'd just relocate the battery, buy a DC4 3" short ram intake, and run a BPi Flowstack setup on it. That will mainly be to get my new motor performing a bit better.
I'm in the process of building a VERY NASTY B20VTEC for the DA, and a BPi Flowstack seems like the best all around idea for it. I might integrate a custom heatshield/airbox and run a bit of Cold Air ducting from behind the bumper, into the airbox to get the best of all worlds. A high velocity intake, that is getting some fresh cool air directed straight into it.
ninja edit:
btw, car is at the body shop at the moment getting some rust fixed (damn DA's and their rust), when i pick it up, its off to my uncle's paintbooth for a nice fresh paint job, courtesy of yours truly
same color, captiva blue pearl. not doing the bay, though. that paint is still in remarkable shape, just needs a good cleaning, as I haven't detailed the bay in about a year and a half. I WILL, however, respray the bay when i put the B20VTEC in. It will NEED a paint job, then, as I'm going to be doing a mild/moderate wire tuck and a little bit of subtle shaving of the bay to clean it up a bit.
