Default Intermittent No Start 09 Civic EX

I purchased this new in December. Since then it has failed to start at least 8 times. Always the same symptom. Turn key to start and I hear the starter spinning, but it does not engage the flywheel. 2nd time I try it will always start. I have an appointment tomorrow, but I have a feeling they will say they can't do anything unless it is failing. It is very intermittent. Sounds like the solenoid needs replacement. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this problem.

Before starting the car, put the key in the II(On) position. Give it about 30 seconds and then start your car. I've had my car for 3+ years now and never had any problems starting the car, and still using the same battery that came with the car.

Here's my routine:

Get in car, put key in II position. Plug in my SG2, adjust radio volume and/or temperature controls if necessary. Put seatbelt on and start the car.

I tried that too. Same result. I should say I've owned 2 other Civics before this one and never had an issue. My friend has an 09 also, and experienced the same problem just one time.

As I suspected, the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem, but they did have a suspicion the dealer installed KARR alarm system was to blame based on my description. They replaced the controller module under warranty. If I don't see any problem over the next 2 weeks, I guess I can assume it is fixed.
